Throttle DIY trouble

Throttle DIY trouble
is the throttle cable DIY possible on a 01 civic lx sedan, I attmepted it and was unalbe to loosen the locknut because of the bracket holding the cable. any info is appreciated. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

i performed this diy a while back...when you take the slack away from the petal, when you hit the gas to the floor, when the petal is on the ground the throttle plate is open to 100%...when you take the slack away, the throttle plate will hit 100% BEFORE the petal hits the floor...then when you push the petal farther, the cable will stretch, i broke mine 2 days after doing this diy, my local honda dealership replaced the cable and tld me it was because i took all the slack away, you can take SOME of it away, but beware you can take too much out, and then your screwed! im not sure if im the only one to brake the cable, but thats my 2 cents.

i did this, and i tightened mine too much, but luckly my line didnt break.. but i think it stretched out a lil cuz when i try to loosen up the slack, theres a lot more slack than there was before
