What K&N replacment filter for AEM CAI?

Hey,

couple questions here:

1) What K&N Replacement filter do I need for my AEM CAI for a 2k1 Civic EX Manual? I think the diameter is 2.75" but not sure. If anyone could shoot me a part #, that would be great.

2) I have a filter already but it is bent a little, like the filter part is bent. It isnt cracked or ripped or anything. Do I need to get a new one? Or will it work fine. In all the threads I have seen, most people say, "yeah, its not good" but is it really bad? will it hurt performance?

Thanks alot!

1. Just buy the generic brand for the filter. They're like $20 at Autozone.

2. It won't hurt your performance, but there's a chance that you'll get some dirt in your engine. It could end up ripping later on, so that won't be good..

does anyone know the exact part # that will fit on a aem cai? i currently have a K&N replacement filter on, but i do not know what size or what model # it is.

also, is ripping the only problem, cause mine is sturdy enough that it will probably hold up as well as a unbent filter???

Sorry, but I don't know the filter part #...

but...my car is lowered, and I smoked this peice of metal (was going to "Oil changers" with a pit and hit the lip surrounding the pit...ouch), which in turn bent my filter. It looks rather warped.

I have cleaned it a couple of times and tried to bend it back. It's hard to play with the shape, but if you can bend it back, you'll be alright.

Although the difference may be negligable, it does impede the air flow a bit, and might cause some dirt to get into the engine (ouch). I'd recommend getting a new one. I'm going to.

The pipe diameter is 2.75 I think, so you can just go to your local shop and look for a replacement filter. Shouldn't be too expensive!

2.75" K&N filter. but its different from regular K&N's b/c the flange length is longer.
the regular K&N's will most likely fit tho

thanks guys...

still dont understand how dirt would get in with no holes in it...

im thinking about jus putting it on with a bent filter, it is pretty much impossible to bend it back to original shape...

anyone know the price for the replacement filter? i heard about $30 bux
