Floor Brace...help

Floor Brace...help
ok, im think of customizing a floor brace...but would it work? i was thinking of using 43mm thick polished steel...question is would it really work?would it really stop frame flex? cuz i don't wanna go through all that and to find out it would do nothing for our cars..but if i do go through and it works, i'll start a bussiness...lol

do you really want to add that much weight to your car. frame flex is really a problem for rear wheel drive cars due to the driveshaft. I would think it would be counter productive and a waist of money. correct me if I'm wrong but you would be good with some suspension upgrades. Not more weight.

True that. Although it probably does help a little bit. I wouldn't make it out of steel though. Make it out of some kind of hollow aluminum. Then it would be light and it would work too. It's all about hollow tubes and triangles yo! Mount it to two points on each side. Also stiffen it for buckling! That kind of bar would be good for a racing harness if you make it right.
Well, for all you peeps that complained about their sunroof popping out of the well...
Guess what? Unibody cars are made to flex and when you change something in the car esp the suspension parts, you disrupt the balance of the car. You stiffen the springs, you will need to reinforce the car. A solid bar just where the end of the front seat rails are will do good. You should get it done professionally. I got a quote for a 6 point roll cage for $300(includes the center floor brace). They use a cromoly alloy bar. Which would be alot lighter than your steel. I would like to do it myself, but then I do not have the machines to balance my car at all four wheels. A cage will not help if your car is balanced and sysmetrical. Who is willing to pay for the balancing anyway. Its not like anyone here has the $500-$800 to get it done. Plus, I know left front (LCA)bushings are wearing out. I hate the on/off ramps in california. They all go in one direction.
I have my floor brace sitting my room. The brace is a little short(out cars are about 2 inches wider than previous Civics). I will post a fix for solution(one of them). We do not need the hump, that is why we can have a straight bar. Out exhausts veers right from the engine and not straight out like older civics.
