Oil?
get your oil change when you hit 3,750 miles in your car. they told me they needed to get rid of all the additives they used. my dealer gave me a free coupon for my first oil change. when i got it done they said every 4,500 miles after. i do it every 3,000 miles to be safe and keep it clean. 10,000 miles is way to much to go without an oil change.

Most dealerships ask you to come back at either: 3750 or 5000 miles.
10,000 is wayyy too much... maybe they want you to have future engine problems so they could make money off you

I'm just wondering how the dealer or manufacture comes up with 3750 miles to do a oil change? 3750 is a bit to perfect, I guess if you waited until 4000 miles the engine would be ruined or if you changed it at 3500 miles it would be a bit to soon. Just my 2¢ worth of rambling.
BTW, the engine oil that comes in a new engine doesn't have any "additives" its just basic 5w-20 motor oil, and anyone that tells you any different doesn't know what they're talking about. If a dealership mechanic tells you that your engine has "break in oil", I'd take my car to a another dealership because they are WRONG!!
I've worked as a mechanic for 2 different dealerships (Ford, Toyota) and there are a lot of "Hack Mechanics" that are employed to do basic jobs like oil changes, tire rotation, belts, hoses and god forbid Brakes. Whats really funny is that those guys are the ones that end up talking to the general public because the "real" mechanics are busy working on more complicated matters in the back of the shops.

From Honda:
Why should I wait to change the oil the first time?
Your Honda engine was delivered with an oil that is specially formulated for new engines that have not yet developed their "natural" wear patterns and may contain minute particles from the manufacturing process.
American Honda strongly recommends this special oil be left in the engine long enough for these wear patterns to develop, usually until the first maintenance interval specified in your Owner's Manual, based on your specific driving conditions.
Please do some research before telling people your opinion.
