anti theft for fog lights

quick question i just put int some fog lights. i just put them on the front bumper and its pretty flimsy and i'm afraid that someone will pull a jack move on me. any suggestions that i can do to prevent this? and how hard is it to cut through that black plastic on the bumper?

Yeah if they are the ones from Honda then good luck getting them out, but if they are something else, you might want to try and figure out a way to bolt them on the car so they cant be ripped off easily, something like a long piece of metal running from one to the other on the inside of the bumper so it cant be seen or something that way they would need to almost cut the bumper in half to get them off.

Just a thought I guess, go to a shop or something, they might be able to get creative and make something up.

spoilers too? I had never heard of anything other than rims getting jack off the outside of a car.

I must be behind the times.

oh yeah fog lights get jacked. i used to know people who jacked them haha dn rims yes. and spoilers is a first but that makes sense. I was actually thinking about mounting them on to some metal that would be connected to the bumper.

my friend also said soemthign about one way screws? anyone know how that works?

Stock Fog light are easy to jack .............. you just need a screw driver .... you don't have to remove the bumper

Why don't you add a bumper grille and put the fog lights behind it?!

regardless of what you do with chunks of metal etc.
it only takes about 2 minutes for a guy who knows what hes doing (and doesnt care about scratching/breaking your bumper) to remove the entire front bumper

if you dont care about breaking it, im sure you could easily pull out the bottom clips/screws and the wheelwell screws then just yank at it as hard as you can

good point but i want to at least try to have it difficult enough for people whod ont' know what they are doing to have a hard time. cuz honestly. ripping off the bumper and stuff is an awful lot of work just for foglights.

civic sky. that's an idea i had. but right now they stick out alittle bit due to that plastic molding inside. and i would need to cut away on it in order to the push the fog lights back enough to place the grill. i dont' want to do permanet damge to it.

i guess i have to go with one way screws. and metal brackets then. any other ideas?

Chain a thief to your car and make a run over the salt flats. The fog light you save may be your own.

hmmm.....

shouldnt you be able to wire the battery to the metal casing of the fog lamp... then the ground to something close by that the theif is liable to touch....

now you have yourself a reasonably painful and effective security solution
