diy throttle cable?
I did it about a year ago. Works great. Just be sure not to tighten so much that the idle increases. You want to test it with the engine fully warmed up. If you have an after market intake, it's really easy to get to the cable adjustment. If you don't want the instant response, you can always back it off a little.
What did you think you were going to feel? All it does is take the lag out of the throttle response when you push on the pedal. The slack is supposedly put there as a little safety feature for people with insensitive feet.
As for going out of adjustment, it doesn't, if you tighten down the lock nut when you are finished.
Ever rode a motorcycle and adjusted the clutch and brake cables after they have stretched? That's why they put those little cable adjuster on them. Same thing on the throttle cable only not muich stretch there.

But the original question was does it void the warranty. No it doesn't. But if one drives like a granny and is afraid he/she might rear end someone at the drive-thru, one should probably not do it.

a motorcyle and a car are completely different in terms of responsivense.. i tested in my car before and after when the TB plate would start to move and there was no difference.. and remember each car is different so some may get a little better response and some of us may not

OTOH maybe you did the wrong cable. There's two there and you only want to adjust one.

Maybe you can take your knowledge and help the poor guy in the linked thread. He's got serious trouble.

Is it really that useful to tighten the cable? I don't really notice much lag... When I accelerate I always have the gas floored. When it's time to shift, I clutch, let off the gas entirely, shift, floor the gas, and pop (not really, but pretty much) the clutch just at the right time so there are no bumps. Oh, that's just every day driving. Will tightening the cable help me at all???
