Q with clearing headlights..

I've attempted to clear my headlights today and i had to put my bumper back on in failure.. er sucks.
anyways, my question is that .. once i take off the bumper and start to unscrew the screws around the headlight to remove the headlight and the bracket that holds it [4 screws in total] - i seem to have A LOT of trouble unscrewing the screw on the bottom. it's sorta blocked by the metal bar through the middle of the car, and i tried using a socket wrench, but no luck .. nothing would fit right around it. how did you guys manage to get through that bolt? with what tool? and if you can give me suggestions .. i would appreciate it a lot. thanks!

6" extention works just fine. $3 will get you one. No need to buy a $10 Craftsman

I did it on my friend's civic with no problem. Just used I think a 1/2" socket wrench and stuck that baby in between the metal. It's easier gettin it back in than taking it out.

Yeah I was able to get mine out without a extension but when I did my buds lights I had to get a extension. But yeah I about gave up too when I couldn't get that screw out because I was living alone and everyone was at work so I would have to put my car back together to go buy that extension. Luckily my neighbor was home

You'll get it just get the extension and the hardest part will be the lights after that then your home free

Get one of those "as seen on TV" flexible screwdriver/drillbits thing. I got one for $15 and it works great for all those hard to reach places.

i already have the extension, i still couldnt unbolt it .. none of the sizes would fit, it would be either too loose or too tight.
what size did you guys use?

You mean pry the 2 pieces a part? Use a hair dryer and a flat head screwdriver to pry away until you can get a grip on them

Or you can just pop them in the oven. I had them in at 200 degrees (lowest setting) for like 10 minutes. I just cleared mine on Sun and had a hard time getting the glue soft enough with the hairdryer.
