Computer Reset

I wqould like top know that if I reset my computer in my car how would I do that and would it mess up the odometer or anything else on my computer.

you mean reset your ECU? no it will not affect your odometer

I just need to reset the computer on the computer I guess it is the ECU. I am just wondering how to reset it.

Ok, not too sure exactly why you reseting but this works for me when lights show up on the dash. 1. Turn the key to accesories. 2. while car is on accesories press the reset short odometer button and continue to hold. 3. Turn the car to off while still holding on the button. 4. While still holding on the accesories button, turn the car on. 5. continue holding on to the button untill all the lights go off. If this doesn't work try the link posted above. This is what my dealer would do, when i took it in to get the lights off my dash. Always worth a try.

I am reseting the computer because I heard when you put in a cold air intake you need to do this. and what button are you talking about presing.

Are you sure? I never did that when I installed mine. Who told you that?

You don't have to do that to the brand new cars of today, the ECU is smart, it makes its own adjustments to the new air/fuel settings. But if you are going more into changing the internals or turbo then you would have to play with the ECU or get a piggyback etc.....
