I have this problem because one of my header bolts is ghetto....its a made myself replacemnt because the original one was stripped to hell....I just need to order a new one from Honda...but thats one reason why. Or maybe the connection is too tight.

if its what im thinkin it is, its probably the header seperating from the cat really quickly and then coming back and slapping each other. my does that because of the springs. it kinda sounds like a "pop"... i guess, thats the right word for it. anyways, when i didnt used to have those SPRING EXHAUST BOLTS on, it didnt do that, but the muffler shop dude said i need them that way i dont break my header from the engine rocking...so i said fine, what the hell. anyways, yah, if thats it, mine does it too, and i've heard other people have the same thing going.

If your header is making any strange noises, I wouldn't drive the car until the problem is fixed...there might be a slight tone change but any odd-ball sounds = bad IMHO. This is your engine you are dealing with...its not a spring or suspension squeaking...

I would do a reinstall on it...just take it off, put it back on...clean it up, check the seal, check and make sure you are torqueing it down good.

I'll go with what matt says. check the connection between the header and the downpipe... check if its tight enough... and check the gasket between the header and the downpipe.. see if its sealed right.

noise your hearing is an exhuast leak either at the head or at the cat, like everyone else suggested fix the install. This shouldn't bother anything engine wise.
