correct me if i'm wrong

i was talking to this one guy that works in an import shop. i asked him about the HP header, and he said if i get it i wont pass the emissions because it relocates the cat further down. does anyone know if this is true at all? also, i have an '02 EX and know that some cutting of the engine mounts are required for installation. does anyone know of any other way to install the headers without any cutting? Seems like a "unique" post since he asks about cat location...besides, if everyone searched there would hardly be any new posts.

ANYWAYS, the only way to install it without cutting the mount would be to raise the engine about 2in. (if my memory is correct) then drop it back into place after the header is installed.

- I thought out of all headers available, the HP header gave you the biggest gains, actually noticeable... anyways, I thought in the DIY for the header it said you don't have to shave the motor mount if the car is an automatic? Could be wrong?

Yes the HP header has been said to give the most gains. DC sports is only a top part. I am not sure about kamikaze or obx. They HP setup is good, but like mentioned you do have to move things or shave things to make it fit. If you move things around and stick to the stock cat, u should pass emissions. If you get the highflow HP cat then you probably won't pass emissions. It is the inspection that might be difficult if they notice it. My bet is that they won't notice the movement of the cat unless they are strict in your state. Good luck
