I just thought coz the engine is SOHC that's why it's more noicy...I don't know.....I am probably wrong...does anyone else have that...the sound is not loud at all though,.....but just the whistle like sound bothers me..

Rep Power: 0 Do you guys have stock air boxes? It might be the problem I had.... the seal where the air box connects to the other part (throttal body?...not too techy...sorry) may not have a total seal...found it when I changed my air filter....
good luck guys

Rep Power: 0 I have a stock air box.. maybe its time to clean the filter? lol.. but it only happens at around 2500-3000RPM usually 2650-2700.. both in 2nd and 3rd gear.. not sure why..
And it only happens when the engine has been running for a while.. Do you think its an engine problem?

Rep Power: 0 whistles usually imply air is going through a small space......I'm not any kind of car tech, but the is a problem with 2k1 air boxes sucking in a plastic piece... 2k2's should have had this resolved. This could be the increased air presure resulting from more working being done by the engine.

Rep Power: 0 I have that same problem on mine. It seems like mine only does it when the engine is cold. Like when I start it up in the morning, or when it has been shut off for a few hours. I dont really notice it once I start to drive though. Its annoying though. Anyone know what that could be?

Rep Power: 789 If you hear a hissing noise when you first start the car, it's the intake. I have AEM SRI and for the first one or two minutes I hear a "sss" noise. That's just the intake sucking in air, and it should go away once the car is warmed up.

Rep Power: 0 Just a thought, you guys aren't hearing a tranny whine are ya? Did someone say they hear it when the car is standing still? If so, well of course its not the noise then. Mine has a bit of a whine, but thats normal.
