Short shifter bad for tranny? The reason i'm asking is because i want to get the REVO SS, but if its gonna eat up my tranny then I prolly won't.

i was sort of wondering that myself. since i had my revo my shifts feel harder, i dunno. its def. much better distance wise.......but you can actually hear it shift sometimes. ive been looking into this alot. the syncros for our cars are so small and weak. it doesnt take much to grind one down to nothing.

The only real reason why it would shorten the life of your syncro's is because you feel more confident/cocky when you drive. If you start throwing down any sort of fast shifts, then of course you're going to shorten the life of the sycnro's.

THink about it, even if it was stock...would YOU, or your GRANDMA go through a clutch faster? obviously YOU, because your grandma granny shifts

as long as you shift correctly it doesn't matter either way...if you shift to hard you're going to mess up both the syncro and the transmission...
