exhuast goose chase

on my LX, Im thinking of this.....first i will buy the tanabe hyper catback for LX, then when i get the money for a header....I'll buy the HP shorty 4-1 header and random downpipe. I should be able to just swap it in if the tanabe is just the EX version with the added downpipe.

I would just take out the unnecessary pipe, replace with Random, and bolt up HP header with lengthened 2nd sensor.....seem feasible?

isnt the magnaflow catback like that....LX/DX gets the EX model but with extra pipe to connect to the up front cat?

I also need to know if the EX's have any hangers for the stock downpipe, that way I will know if I need to make some for the random one.

The EX downpipe does have a hanger just forward of the catalytic converter (between the header and cat). The Random Technology free-flow cat will have this necessary hanger welded onto it when you buy it. The Random cat is 2" in and 2" out (I think) and has the correct flanges for mounting to the EX header and EX exhaust (from the cat and back).

The Random Tech cat has the necessary bungs for the O2 sensors as well (2 on the EX).
