Painted Int, will it last?

Whats up all. I've read countless posts about how people painted their trim. And I'm thinking about doing mine. What I want to know is does it last?? Those who have done it please respond. How does it hold up to scratching, flaking and heat?? Thanks for the help. And yes, I've searched and found no posts about long term looks.

The key is to make sure the paint adheres to the plastic trim. I used a non-metal surface primer to accomplish this, and after about three months so far so good.

I sanded , primed, used two coats of silver, 3 coats of clear, when to mask off (with the blue tape) where i just painted silver and pulled up the tape and it took EVERYTHING off, right down to where i started........... If you really want it to stay you have to use some type of bonding agent, it melts the plastic and preps it so it will actually stick, and not flake or chip...or.... I just sprayed my trim pieces with this Vinyl dye aresol .........it came out really smooth and it actually stuck, just to see how good it was i took DUCK TAPE and pulled it up and it didnt take anything off..... PLastikote seemed to work for other people but i had alot of problems with it

Yeah, I highly suggest using the clearcoat because if it is in a high-sun situation, the paint will fade real fast. I put clear coat on mine and not only does it look shinier, it helps protect it too...the clear coat will slow it down a bit...

KEY POINT !!!!... listen... cause i know what i'm doing... i've done this over and over again on other peoples cars !!!!

don't just put 2 coats... put many many LIGHT coats.... the paint will stick better... this goes for BOTH primer and paint and clear coat... light means you won't be able to see the paint right away... but as you give it more coats the better and cleaner it'll look...
