Shift ****; There's a clip...

I recently purchased a type r shift **** and noticed that when i took off the stock **** that it was clipped onto the boot. I got it off just fine but when i put the type r on, the boot's clip just kinda hangs down there leaving the rod to be exposed between it and the ****. Is there an aftermarket **** that will clip into the boot or do i have to get a short shift so that the **** will have to snuggle on top of the boot clip? Any info will be much appreciated. MOMO makes a boot that will attach to any ****. It is called the 'Elegance' boot. Get it anywhere you can get MOMO stuff. You'll have to cut the bottom up though. You need to make tabs in it so that you can put it in the frame where the stock one was. I have a 'Performance' in my car (screws into a MOMO ****) , it's much better than the stock one. Much thicker, textured leather and yes, no trim ring, it just screws into the ****, provided you have a Momo ****.

Yes, the MOMO component system is very nice...the shifter screws right into the soft shift boot, thus, eliminating any ugly gap between shifter and boot...plus, they have some really cool colors of boots too!

TAPE AROUND THE SHIFTER RIGHT BELOW THE ****..... WHEN U MOVE THE CLIP ON THE BOOT UP... IT WILL SLIDE OVER THE TAPE MAKING IT SNUG..... MINE HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR A YEAR.. NO PROBLEMS HERE... JUST WRAP THE TAPE AROUND A FEW TIMES AND UR SET.

If you bought a Type R shift ****, then it came with a little nut that you put on first which holds the boot up. THat's what I did when I had my type r **** on.

btw: I switched the rsx **** because the metal just got too hot in the sun here in tucson...

Thanks everybody for all the info. I'm actually thinking of getting that revo short shifter. That should bring the **** closer to the boot clip right? And Chen, that's a good idea... if i don't get the revo i'm gonna try that. Also since i'm talking about it, any insight on the revo short shifter (the one where you don't need an adapter) will be very helpful in my decision-making process. thanx guys
