Whatever happened to the DIY for HP header?

Soniccivic had said one of his friends had put this header on. He also said he would put up a DIY on how to do it. I still have my header and cat sitting in my room because I can't get it on. Can someone who has done this post a DIY????

well, heres some info for you HP HEADER fanatics...
this isnt 100% about the install, but more of an overview partially about the install, but also about fitment and and performance....
I dont think BILL has gotten around to the DIY yet. i know he installed the header because i was there helping him, and it took much longer than anticipated. basically, as i see it, the HP Header was SUPPOSIVELY designed to fit right into the EX SEDAN without any problems... however i dont think this is the case.
i believe he started in on the header around 6pm.... we didnt have the car started until midnite. and just from experience, i believe that it is actually easier to put the header into COUPE, however this is just an opinion. it may also have to do with the fact that my COUPE is an LX and his SEDAN is an EX. so not only is the engine bay a lil more compact as far as accesories go in the EX, but also the engine mount brackets seemed to be a little different from the SEDAN vs. the COUPE. i think there are a few varying factors here, but either way, this is by no means a simple bolt on header to ANY 7thgencivic.
just briefly i can state that this install took about the same amount of energy as mine did, if not a little more because of the need to shave more of the engine bracket down. we literally had to cut a CHUNK of the engine bracket off, not because of the header tube rubbing, but because we couldn even get the header into the engine bay until it was cut down. on the upside, Bill ordered a slightly different header than the actual HP RACE header. it is the same exact design, however there is an additional port or o2 sensor fitting on the actual header tube, so that if it were an LX trim engine, no o2 sensors would need to be extended. i think this was very unique and handy for LX owners, but rather ugly to look at, mainly because there is a large bolt head extruding off the header tube to fill the hole. this is also 100% useless on EX trim engines. that last difference i noticed was after the install, when testing out the header. this may be due to lack of time with the header on the car, and the ECU possibly not adapted to the header 100% yet, but... what i noticed is that being that i have the same header so to speak, on an LX COUPE, and Bill has it on his EX SEDAN, there is quite a difference in power. in regards to accelleration, there seems to be a huge pick up with both cars. The EX had UNBELIEVABLE ACCELLERATION after the header install. in my opinion, it seems that the VTEC doesnt seem to benefit the header, or vice versa. i have not driven the EX after the header install, so this isnt first hand, but being that i was in the passenger seat, and feeling the torque of the engine, it seems that when the VTEC kicks in, the engine doesnt pull as hard. i especially notice this in my own car, the LX COUPE, which seems to accellerate LONGER... in 2nd and 3rd gears. we've yet to put the cars side by side in a drag, but when we do, we'll be sure to update you guys.

Your car probably accelerates slower because you have 18s on and Bill has 15s. There's really little difference between an LX and EX engine's performance. Glad to hear that the results were nice on Bill's car.

And yes, cutting will void the engine warranty... but what do you need an engine warranty for?

And I thought Bill posted the DIY already... ? Hmm.
