I'm not going into the physics of oils again in this post so just view my response to oil weights and types in the other post...don't remember it exactly so just look near this one since it wasn't that long ago....

if you want an all year oil, use waht honda says, if you want the best for each half of the year, summer, winter, if youre in the northern half of the country, ive in the past used 10-30 in the winter, and 10-40 in the winter, the second is a little thicker and has a higher viscosity, the first is thinner so in cold temps it doesnt turn to goo. honda recommends 5-20, thats fine, a little thinner than i would use, but its not bad. however, if youre only gonna see about 40 or so degrees, then 5-20 is fine, no problems.
