If you go 80 mph and downshift into second, causing the needle to jump past redline, just before rev limiter kicks in, your enginge will overrotate. That split second of high rpms will most likely cause your rods to break and f@wk up your pistons. I saw it happen to an S2000 at a local garage. It's a really sad sight to see

dont take this the wrong way but i just dont believe that in our civics.... actually Ive done that at about 90... I was in fifth going into fourth but i was uhm smoking sumthin.. and threw it into 2.. i let up on the clutch and i felt the car just start to dip back . I was likE Holy shi* and slammed the clutch down ... civic's still runin normal as to date. So you tell me? AN s2000 max out is 9200 or sumthing right? that engine revs that hight to begin with , but NO way THE COMPUTER SHUTS THAT SHI* OFF DUDE MUST HAVE HAD A CHIP. the only other thing i can see the tranny going and falling out the car.

EXACTLY, if you woulda let it out all the way like you tried it, it would blow, NO MOTOR IS IMMUNE TO BLOWING UP. EVEN HONDAS! look at race cars, they blow up, are you telling me the motor in a $15000 car is better than an $80000 motor in a $500,000 race car?

you must be smokin somethin
