B-Series swap

I've heard it's possible if you get the crossbar from the car ur doing the swap from (civic si for b16a... gsr for b18c) or whatever... i just don't really know:
a) what a crossbar is (n00b)
b) junkyards i guess?

Any help?

EDIT: my aol instant messenger name is tehbandicoot so just IM me if u have answers or respond to this thread... thanks.

Oh yeah... when installing underbody neons i might have blown a fuse or something, my low-beam xenon blue headlights wont work but my high-beams will... any input?

the b series engines will not fit without serious engine bay modifications. (ie lots of money). and it really aint worth it. if you want a fast car trade in your civic and go buy an rsx-s.

i've heard that you can do it if u take off the crossbar too... plus, rsx-s is 23K and a b18c is 3.3k. and i don't mind my interior. and i've done too much cosmeticall to my car (haha like $500 worth) to make me want to sell it. oh yeah! and it's my parents car so i can't sell it, and my dad won't buy me a manual, but i can buy myself one. so if i buy the engine = solution.

to make ur civic faster u can swap engines with a rsx engine K20a- i think its like 220hp, cheaper than buying a rsx, but more power than a b-series engine for about the same amount of money, maybe even cheaper . someone in this forum already did the engine swap.

its probably just those headlights, I have those right now, and I keep blowing them gone through like 4 or 5 now, (and no I dont touch the bulbs ) but to be sure, there is a fuse you can check, look in your owners manual for the fuse guide. good luck. buy some aftermarket headlights or something, youll be happier.

in order to make your car street legal, i think you can only put engines of the same or newer year of your car. as far as i know, honda doesn't produce b series engines anymore so please get over this business of a b series swap

in my opion, a b-series swap is most definetly possible. i've been doing honda engine swaps for 3 years now and a b16 would definetly fit, although power steering may be a problem. and if you really want performance you can't worry about state inspections, so the engine being older than the car won't matter. there is always a way to pass inspections.

ok, this is just some lame replies by some NOOBS. honestly, if someone is going to, or thinking about, doing the B-Series swap....GREAT! Let them do it, i give them props on just contimplating such a mod. for the rest of you who say it cant be done, or shouldnt be done, SHUT YOUR F * CKING MOUTHS! wuts the point in everyone who has an engine swap, all having the same god damn engine? why does everyone need to swap in the K20? its called creativity and ingenuity! i honestly would love to see a b-series in the new hondas. its a better base-power plant with DOHC and VTEC. a lot more to talk about then our SOHC VTEC/Non-Vtec engines. heres my point, if u got something to say, let it be something HELPFUL to this persons question, as far as supplying him with the neccessary info to get the job done right! if u dont know, either support him, or keep ur mouth shut. TEHBANDITCOOT.... bro, do ur thang... i'll keep my eyes open for info on this swap... peace

OK, couple problems: You'll need to find an engine pulled from a 2001 integra(if your car is a 2k1), otherwise it will be illegal. Another thing is the RFS on our cars will have to be replaced with a loop fuel system to get the B-series motors to work. There are no mount kits in development or even planned for the B-series, so that's more custom work......in the end, I still think your better off with a K20 swap, because the cost of swap will be about the same for either one.

THANK YOU FOR CHRISTS SAKE THANK YOU. Nobody but you and spider883 have been supportive at all of anything i've asked... thank god for him talking to me on AIM. the rest of you: no! you don't need that year or newer to be CARB exempt or anything, you have to 2001 emissions, and the GSR engines being LEV themselves MAKES THAT FRIGGIN POSSIBLE.

and despite all of your insulting/positive replies, you have not answered me what the hell a crossbar is. my friend said it connected the rear suspension but that can't be what i'm talking about because that's in the back and i need something in the front or else it would make no sense... please tell? thanks.
