LED's give me hyperblinkers!
Hey
I bought some red LED turn signal bulbs for the back. I wanted to do this because they were white with my new tail lights.
Anyways, because the voltage/amps are different, the car thinks the bulbs are burnt out, so it makes the turning signals blink way fast (6 times normal speed).
Just curious if anyone knows how I can go about fixing this? If I put in some resistors along the loop, will this fix the problem?
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

man, i'm an idiot.
"all you need is a variable load flasher, which is possible to get, or get one of the load resistors that jamstrait sells, that will take care of the hyperblinker effect.." - Sorphin.
Shoulda searched first.
Anybody know where I can get this?
Thanks

PoopyRay: for sure
the only problem is that it blinks so damned fast its hard to take a picture of
one thing's for sure tho: its WAY brighter than the stock bulbs.
I'll try to take some shots tonight and post 'em!

Thanks theGuySmiley...I can't wait to get rid of the hyperblinker

I posted about this a few months ago...
Heres a pic of the LED bulb...

And to fix my "hyperblinker" issue I replaced the 133k ohm resistor on the relay with ~160k resistor.
But that was all part of my earlier hyperblinker mods. The blinker is just a tad faster than stock, but not noticable.
tekgnosis - turn on your hazards, notice they still run at stock speed... just something interesting to notice.

ya, those are the ones I got...except I got the 'sport compact' ones, or something like that. they's be white and shine red.
I actually tested them out by hitting my four ways...then when I got in the car later and drove, it was kinda weird for a second before I figured out wtf was wrong.
I'll try the suggestions.
Thanks man!

yeah, l.e.d.s have lest resistance so they flash faster....in my s-10 all i had to do is get an electronic flasher from the local parts store for a few bucks and it was fixed.

well, i just took care of the hyperblinker effect w/ my LEDs..
just took out the flasher, removed R1 and replaced it w/ a ~300ohm resistor.. works good enough, and no more blinkers on crack..
