Aftermarket Shift ****...
I would like to change my stock shift **** (on a manual sedan) for a Momo King Aluminum or similar; however, I would like to know how would I go about holding the boot up. The stock **** has some sort of clips for the silver ring, which keeps the boot up. Thanks for your advice.

I am planning on going with a Momo shift **** too...what I am doing is buying the shift ****/shift boot system from Momo. The shift **** will screw right into the shift boot. But if you don't want to spend all that money, try and get a rubber bushing, slide it onto the shifter below the top of the shift boot or get some black cable ties...that should work....

Thanks 2Hottie, how much for the Momo shift boot? An where?
riceboi: where did you get the boot ring and how much? Sounds like a very good and simple solution.[hr]

here's what i did and it only cost me $3. go to your local home depot or OSH and buy a spring slightly larger than the diameter of the shaft of the shifter. slide the spring over and down the shaft, you might have to cut the spring depending on it's length. the spring will push up the silver ring against the ****. i patented this idea so you must send me money if you want to use it .

Hey guys, I just went with riceboi's setting, and ordered the King Aluminum Shift **** and the Finishing Ring ($16+S&H). I think it looks nice, and if I'm already spending $70 on the shifter, I might as well finish the job with the Momo Finishing Ring. I just hope I don't have any problems with the installation. Thanks.

Oh yeah, perfect.
Can you explain exactly how it works, just so I have an idea. It looks as though it is the original boot from your Honda. How does the ring connect to the boot.
Looks like an alternative that would work great for me.
