kaminari kit: keep during winter?
i was wondering if everyone, kaminari owners, would keep their kit on during the winter. i live in chicago and it snows here big time. i'm gonna get the kit soon. would there be a problem with installing and re-installing the kit? also, i have a DIY lower grill. will this affect the kit at all? is there any drilling involved in putting the kit on? did everyone do theirs by themselves? how much is it to get the entire kit painted? does it come ready to be painted? i know i asked a lot of questions, but please answer what you can. thanks!
No kits comes painted from the factory, those snow drifts are a biotch(i use to live in Naperville/Aurora area), how are your streets plowed? You will be going through a lot of 3M double sided tape if you want to remove and put it back on and the grill should not get in the way. I think that is most of it.

I was thinkin of gettin a kit for this summer, but i think ill wait till next summer. Being my 1st yr in college and all i cant really spend a lot of $$ on my car, plus winter time i wont have an extra car to use so my civic is my only ride. The car is lowered right now so thats already gonna cause problems in the winter. Gotta invest on groundcontrol coils so i can raise that motha up when necessary.

i got it painted for abt 350 dollars. i installed my kit myself. took me about 3-4 hrs. the hardest part r the sideskirts atleast for me. during cold seasons, the sides harden and it touches the door whenever i open it. make sure theres enough clearance between the door and the skirts also. during hot season make sure the emblem is super glued cuz mine came off cuz of the heat. itll make a mark on the emblem but atleast ur not gonna spend 5 bucks for a new one. hope this helps

did everyone peel of the 3M tape. i was thinking not to since its main purpose is for the kit ti fit better on the car. i think that the screws are enough to keep the kit in place without the help of the 3M tape. that way, i could take it on and off when i want/need to. it's really easy to take off and re-install once you've drilled holes the first time. am i going to make a big mistake here, or do you guys think i'd work?
