Question about dying a dash...

I have a black dash in my civic, as most of you do. i was wondering if anyone has dyed thiers blue and came out with good results. I don't want to spray-paint it, because I don't want to risk it from chipping and looking chitty.

dye? Maybe the dashboard, but nothing else. I went to the local fabric store and found Marine Vinyl for $4.99 for a 1yrd(1 yd x 2 yd). I am going tomorrow to buy some and get some vinyl glue. I should have this done by Import Revolution in San Mateo on aug 29th. I will post pics when I finish. I have clips of the HKS Hiper w/ 2.25 piping and a 12 in resonator. Anyone who wants to here it or had webspace, let me know. Email me or IM me at ASWZero(@hotmail.com).

The trade for the tan dash sounds like a good deal for the both of you.. otherwise, you would just have to bleach your black dash to dye it another color

Wow five post and noone has answered my question. I would like for someone out there to take the time and reply what type of dye if any will do a drastic change from black to blue.

i did my interior fully custom white and blue. i used SEM vinyl/plastic dye for $12 a can. if youre going witha blue dash then im pretty sure that youre safe because its a dark color on a dark color, but there is a grey primer that you can pick up just to be safe. mines been on for a few months and still looks like i did it yesterday. its sooo much easier to keep clean then regular revinyling of the whole interior and in my opinion it looks a lot cleaner too.
