i searched but couldnt find the answer..
anywho, i ordered a pair of amber 7440 bulbs today for my front blinkers. then i came home, checked the bulb chart on this site and it says 7443. now my question is, would the 7440 bulb still fit/work?

Rep Power: 0 ilv4nos: um... no. you forgot to put "i think the 7443 is the clear version"...
a 7440 is a single-filament bulb, a 7443 is a dual-filament bulb. if you use a 7440 bulb in your front blinkers, they will only come on with the hazards/blinkers, not with the parking lights. it also won't blink when you lock/unlock your car with the remote. but guess what!? they BOTH can be amber! or white! or blue!
anyways, it can work, but you have to modify the socket for the 7440 to fit. use an x-acto knife to remove the little tabs inside the socket that prevent the 7440 from fitting in.
hippy: there isn't a smaller version of the 744x bulb. your projectors must use a different bulb, because the 744x bulb is slimmer than the socket itself -- if the hole isn't big enough for the bulb, there's no way you can screw the socket in!

Rep Power: 0 I learned that when the ghae *** body shop gave me my car back with a 7440 bulb in the right headlight... at first I was like, "So that's how people have their headlights on without the corners." I think Derek has a picture of his car looking like that. Anyway, it's bad to drive with them cuz you have no lights on the corners but that's just my lil' story.

*note*
7440 & 7443 have the exact same plug and are completely interchangeable.
*note2*
3156 & 3157 are the bulbs that need slight modification to fit ina 744x plug
**3156 are the turn bulbs used on a coupe for rear turn signal (sedan too maybe)
