How difficult to install headers?

How difficult is it to install headers? Can I do it in my driveway with jackstands and hand tools? If I put on an HP racing header w/hi flow cat can I easily switch back for emissions?

dude its a piece of cake!

most of the work involved with cars is simply just common sense, why do you think Gus and Bubba can work on your car and not mess it up too bad, the only thing I have hard time trusting myself to do is stuff I really dont know, like the brake system, and alot of the electrical stuff.

it's a piece of cake dude, if you have jackstands and a torque wrench you'll be good to go. prepare to be frustrated by the lower bolt that holds the heat shield on to the stock header though. everyone i've talked to has had trouble with breaking the torque on that thing cause of rust.

I do have one power tool, an impact wrench. I guess that will help. I've done my springs so i guess i can handle this. Just wanted to know if there was things to look out for like if I get HP racing headers will it line up properly?

I just put a dc header on mine a week ago. I simply sprayed all the bolts with some wd-40 about 8pm and went to install the header around 11pm. Every bolt broke free easily. Just take a few minutes and spray all the bolts a little while before you do the install. I simply jack up one side of the car just enough to be able to slide under and get to the bolts attaching the header to the downpipe. I have no idea why anyone would pay to have this installed. It takes 45mins MAX to install a header. Some people just aren't inclined in this way but most are.

How do you get to the right most bolt thats holding in the header. The wires around the altanator (spell check) is blocking the way.

its real simple, just make sure you have a good set of sockets.

I used a breaker bar and it came off with a quick push.
