Ahh man, it's there for a reason....think about your engine...."have mercy" it screams....into the red line is bad. But fast is good...shouldnt have bought a civic for speed, just style...my 2 cents. (I know I'm going to get trashed for that one.)

Well wait until someone such as Greddy or HKS makes their new version which can be direct plug and play or daisy chained...it might get rid of the rev limiter without HURTING the engine...i'd just say wait on it

but still, it's never too good of a thing to redline. your not getting any faster by going further than redline. it's best when shifting right at redline then going 500 or 600 rpm more. i could guarantee if our car did not have a rev limit, and you ran a quarter mile, you would run a better time shifting at redline, which is 6800 rpm, than shifting at 7500 rpm.

when does your rev limiter kick in? I just got past my break in and it seemed like it wouldn't let me go over 6400rpm which freaked me out knowing I was safe til 6800.

weird it sounded like the rev limiters on ps games which was weird, they normally hit and drop everything down by a few hundered rpms right (that's what my integra did but as my rank is, I'm a newbie and my integra was pos!)?, not like a quick fluttery sound?

you can definetly tell when the rev limit kicks in. it feels like something real heavy pulling the car back, and does drop the rpm a bit for you to avoid blowing your engne

i'm pretty sure the rev limiter is programmed into the ecu and thats why some one suggested to wait til there is a replacement ecu...Or you can use a jet chip upgrade...if there is another way around it let me know

if you have an ex it shouldnt cut off at 6200 red line is like 7000 and thats where the fuel cutoff is too.... you might want to get yours checked out....

I've never had the rev limiter kick in per se, but in 5th I was going 117 and it cut me off. I was no where near the redline cuz I have and HX which runs at lower rpm's than the EX.
