magnaflow hitting sway bar??help
I have had a little problem scraping my magnaflow catback on the u bolt and part of the piping when going over big crappy speed bumps, they are located in a park that i like to go to. Im at stock height but will be getting a pro kit soon, so i took my car to member Turtle to see if he could move the piping moved up, He works as a honda dealership mechanic, so he realligns the piping and we finish the job lower the car again and i go to drive it. Now the piping looks about an inch higher, we tried to not get the pipe too close to the front sway bar, but now when i go around turns i hear a grinding sound, its not really loud but if feels bad, kinda like "cur cur cur cur" real fast. What does this mean, it doesnt sound like metal tapping metal but a grinding sound, it used to happen every little turn and now by the end of the night it does it less often but still happens, any solutions, should i get the pipe moved farther from the bar or what, i want to keep the pipe high off the ground as well.
What would the noise sound like if it was the pipe hitting the sway bar? Im confused and I dont want to hurt my car, I goin on a 6 hour drive on monday so.. need quick suggestions
Thanks
Brandon

hey I had the same problem, my magnaflow downpipe was hitting the front bar. I fixed mine by having 3 people hold the pipes. One at the back of the car, one pulling the down pipe away from the front stablizer and one puching up one the mid pipe as I tightened it. It was a real pain , but this solved my problem, I have no more rubbing, and I even went today to get the pipes welded because of how low the down pipe is with the clamps. The muffler shop today said that the pipes should have been bent different for the lx and dx. Just keep playing with the mid pipe, that worked for me. and also I tightened the bolts on the cat first and everything finally worked=)

Mine did the same thing for the first month or so that I had it. I just kept getting under there and messing with the pipe and clamping it in different positions until it stopped. I hated that damned noise tho. sounded like my steering was fugged up.

thanks to turtle, my exhaust works now an inch higher than originally and away from the sway bar so it doesnt make any more noise while turning, I guess you just have to reallign it a few times. Thanks for you advice....
