WARRANTY?

Does any know exactly how much the dealers usually allow as far as mods on the engine before it will void your warranty?

unless its a cool mech.,
most would void anything aftermarket
they blame the problem on what ever is aftermarket

your best bet...would be to ask the dealer about the warranty...cuz i know some allow it while others dont...i know the dealer that i got my car said it was cool to have bolt-ons such as intake and exhaust...however it will be voided if the cause of the problem is due to the aftermarket part

If the dealer you bought the car from says it will void your warranty, take it to another. You can get warranty work done at any honda dealer. also acura I am pretty sure.

its illegal for dealers to void warranty based on the fact that you have a bolt on mod. its the dealers responsiblity to prove that the mod caused the problem.

I asked about Strut Bars, and the Warranty guy at my dealership here in NC
said there is no problem with it because the Civic Si has a stock upper front strut bar
and I think acura integra gs-r's have them too

they said as long as I dont come in for "suspension problems" that they wont even
take note of me having a strut bar

I dont know about intakes, or headers or exhaust, I think the guys above are right about that

I beleive if they see any mods to your car, and something goes wrong with your powertrain,

that they'll try their hardest to blame the mods for it. but it'll be quite hard to blame the mods.

Sometimes it seems dealers just make it up as they go , or can get away with... They all need to get on the same page.

Exactly. Its very dependent upon your particular dealer. Some are cool as hell, and others are EXTREMELY **** about ANY mod that is done....and will try to blame the defect on the most ridiculous things. Check with your dealer

i have added a injen race division cai, and a full exhuast and had some electrical problems from the intake being mounted on the wrong side of a bolt causing a ground wire problem, well i took it to my honda dealer here and they fixed EVERYTHING UNDER WARRANTY! i guess it was a cool mechanic for me!! so i paid nothing and got back a brand new car practically! hehe i love west side honda!

My dealer says that as long as you do not cut into any of the wires or housing, your warranty will be good. Just don't cut into anything Okay! But nothing is better than getting it straight from the horses mouth.
