<< Ok, i had an idea, a real brain fart of an idea too... Why dont you turn the car back on, dont start it, just on, and pull your parking brake then shift into neutral. Theres two small screwes on teh front of your shifter (facing the console). Take both off, wont hurt your car or anything... and pull the shifter off the shift rod. Put your car back in park and see if the key comes out that way. Maybe something inside your shift handle broke and is holding the sift rod from releasing all the way. Hope that helps, Ill keep thinkin what else you can try in teh mean time... >>

D*mn that didn't work..................
something is fvcked up here
i think im going to take it to the dealer first thing tomorrow

When I worked for Honda, I had CRV do this to me. I guarentee that it will come out if you keep messing with it.......

Put car into drive, shift through all the gears, put in park or neutral and try to get key out.
Turn steering wheel side to side to unlock wheel.
Push in and pull out on key while trying to turn it.
Put foot on and off brake.

The dealer will definately do this until it works. If it doesn't work, they will simply pull the key out.

I realize everyone said these things already, but dealer is going to tell you it all over again too.

Do you have alot of keys (house keys etc.) attached to your car-key? It happened to my dad once, the key got stuck in the ignition coz the whole bunch (house-keys, office-keys) was too heavy and it caused the car-key to change the shape just so slightly that it jammed in the ignition. That may be what you're experiencing right now.

Anyway, my dad had to take it to the dealer-ship to change everything.

2k1since00, you said, "the dealer will try all that and if it doesn't work they would "simply pull the key out".. how the heck do they "simply" pull the key out? and if they could do that why would they d1ck with trying all the other things???

Haha. This happened to me too. Pulled up to a friend's place and yanked the parking brake. Something distracted me and I forgot it was still on D. Tried to take the keys out for like 5 minutes before I realized.

I dunno if this has been suggested yet, but try putting it into Park real hard. Might be stuck inbetween somewhere. Good luck!
