Do U have an aftermarket shift handle? That happened to me the first time i installed my Ichibahn, somethin to do with teh release button being triggered, locks the key in the cylinder until the shift button is released. Just gotta take it up the shaft when its in park until you hear the relay solenoid click, your stereo wont go off cuz your car is still in "acc" power. If im dead wrong then i dont know, but since it wont turn off, you might as well drive it to the dealer...

Frist make sure your car is in park. Then step on the brake and jerk your steering wheel back and forth while jiggling the key around and pulling it out simultainously and it should come out.

I have an aftermarket shift handle on an automatic. when you pull teh release button, a solenoid releases a lock onto your key so you cant shut off the electrical system by taking your key out while the car is moving. But since yours is stock, i cant tell you what could be wrong, maybe the solenoid has a crossed lead and is not letting the lock release when your in park? Sometimes that crap happens, I mean my tach still drops out to 0 and pops back up when i let off the gas, but Honda cant figure out why, the only thing they could do is tear apart my entire wiring harness and replace it, i was like F.T. its just a sensor. The speedo doesnt have any problems and the tach only does it sparatically so it doesnt worry me any and they said it wont hurt the car but anytime i want it fixed its free of charge under warranty.

Ok, i had an idea, a real brain fart of an idea too... Why dont you turn the car back on, dont start it, just on, and pull your parking brake then shift into neutral. Theres two small screwes on teh front of your shifter (facing the console). Take both off, wont hurt your car or anything... and pull the shifter off the shift rod. Put your car back in park and see if the key comes out that way. Maybe something inside your shift handle broke and is holding the sift rod from releasing all the way. Hope that helps, Ill keep thinkin what else you can try in teh mean time...

Yea, well if anyone saw the beginning of the thread, this happened to me when i first installed my ichibahn. I was pissed at first cuz i thought i fVcked up the shifter but it turned out that it was just installed too low down the shifter shaft. This problem really sounds like a crappy situation, I would hate if it was my car right now. I mean the car is stock so its obviously not teh same problem, but it could be similar...

Have another idea, this one may be the golden star award of an idea for this problem, since the locking mechanism that holds the key in is "electronically powered" try puttin the car in park, popping the hood, and removing your ground wire. (Make sure you have your stereo code on hand) Then try to take the key out with a dead electronic system...

Ok, I just re-read this and i know you know how to take a key out, but when you said this you meant that your key is in the "I" position, and you push the key in at teh same time and turn it opposite of the starter position to the release position. The way you make it sound its like the key pops out after you push it in. Not tryin to make you feel dumb, just tryin to figure out whats wrong. Gotta remember that you have to turn the key as you push in to get it to come out of the cylinder. (Dont be all like "Yea I know that!!!" im just tryin to help)
