Cleaning the INJEN FILTER
I have an injen intake the short ram version and I just wanted to know if there were cleaners to remove the dirt instead of buying a whole new filter. thanks
you can buy the k&n cleaning kit at any autoparts store or you can just use a little dish soap, but you will need the k&n oil. the oil comes with the kit or you can get it seperately. to oil, just run a thin line on the ridges of the filter.

Yep, just cleaned my last week after 3k miles. I had the bumper off anyway and I swear the engine seemed to run a little smoother after the cleaning. It could be a mental thing though.

Yes, you do have to clean the filter. Once a normal paper type filter gets dirty and clogged, you have to buy a new one. The cotton-gauze type filters are just washed and reoiled. I think they say they should last 1,000,000 miles or something like that. Basically, you won't ever need a new filter.
