Sort of but not really you are better off runing it every tank if you are going to be running premium once a month I have heard doesn't really help anything. I would just throw that techron fuel injection cleaner in there instead once a mth but just my $.02 but I use premium every fill up I seem to have a little more power through my rpms

Alright here's the deal with the gas, using premium has absolutley no affect on your cars performance...all it does is lighten your wallet.
I always use 87, and if you have a gas station near you that sells 86, civics will run great on that too.

Always stick to what it says in the manual. Our engines were designed to take Regular.

our engines dont compress premo all the way, we have a 9:9:1 compression ratio
i think the best would be mid grade at the most, we would need at least a 11:0:0
to compress premo, youll have a lot of gas that wont be used properly and mess up ****...

Yeah same here other people may not benefit from premium but I can afford the Premium and my car has more power going up hills in mile high country where I live. So again it all comes down to what you wanna pay and if you get better mileage then I say go for it, but like a post awhile back said at least 86 octane so 91 or so won't hurt the engine just cost a little more on the wallet. Also I asked honda about this awhile back like in the civics he said its not necessary but yeah you will notice a little difference going up hills and on trips in hilly country. But like the Prelude when I was test driving it he said yeah I would recommend premium if I was driving this car, but dealer just wants the Regular because they are cheap. Also a friend of mine has a HX and on a long trip to colorado we went on with higher octane gas he got the best mileage he has got with the car yet so it is possible to get better mileage.

Just my $.02 but everyone has their own opinions
