I'd put in the old air box and see if you still have the problem...if you do bring in back to honda with stock equiptment on it see if warrenty will cover it?

does it only do it at idle?? did it just start happening after you installed the intake?? how many miles do you have on the car ?? do you have anything else done to it ???

well, it didn't do this until after i installed the intake. i don't really want to put the stock intake back in cuz it's probably not that. i read somewhere else in these forums that someone had installed an intake on their civic and that they had to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes so that the ecu would clear. that might just be it cuz i haven't done that. maybe the ecu has to be reset so that it reads that there is more air coming in the engine? i don't know. and yeah, it only does this at idle, it runs fine anywhere else. it's only got 3K miles on it so far.

for the exhaust i'm thinking of putting a 2" pipe from the cat to the muffler, with a high-performance muffler at the end.

It happen to my car too before or after install drop in K&N filter,

lucky that after reset ECU, my engine has less vibrates when reach 3000 RPM

I am not sure it cause by K&N Air filter?? or This Civic did not fine tune ECU in Canada?? and always using default value??

Anyway, My car feel it can fly after reset ECU with proper ECU learning procedure.

what do you mean by shaking?

do you mean when you rev the engine will move? cuz thatz normal, and has nothing to do with the ECU, nor reseting your ECU will help.
