Oil on plugs need help

Notice my car was smoking a little. Nothing bad. It's spraying fuel or oil all cars behind me when I give it some good gas. Went to change my plugs during some tune-up I was doing, and my spark plugs are dripping with oil. Any help on what this may be from? Bad rings or valve seal?

Oil on plugs means bad spark plug tube seals, pick up a valve cover gasket set, replace them all and thatll cure that problem, not sure if it would smoke that bad, but start with fixing that oil leak.

If you open it, might as well replace the O rings while you're at it

Re: Oil on plugs need help

Could be bad rings or a bad valve seal. What year is your civic? Are all of the plugs covered in oil or just one or two?

whooops, missed the part where you pulled the plugs out and they were dripping oil, i thought you meant on the coil side, sorry. But yeah, either valve stem seals and guides or rings, check your compression. If its low, its the rings, if not, the valve seals.

Re: Oil on plugs need help

I just changed my plugs today and all were covered in oil. It is a 91 civic with 500xxx. Thought this was normal so I went about turning on my car till the entire garage was smoke filled. Oops.
