I installed my mp3 head unit this weekend. the only problem i had was after connecting the wire harness the dash did not illuminate. I did a little trouble shooting and discovered when i grounded the "dimmer" wire on the harness the dash lighted up. is this right? or did i screw up somewhere else. Also by grounding this dimmer wire it does not allow me to adjust the intensity of the light in the dash. Can anybody tell me whats up, or is this normal?

That sounds strange, when I put my MP3 HU in I just wired it up to a Honda factory harnes and pluged it in and away I went. Did you buy a harness for the HU ?

yeah i got all the harnesses and everything, but the only thing i did at first was wired the "dimmer" & "illumination" from the harness together and then when i figued out that the dash was not lighting up i removed the "dimmer" wire, and that is when i found out if i gound the dimmer wire it made everything work. Did i mess something up by wiring those two wires together in the beginning.

i didn't wire the dimmer lights.. i left that alone..
