Heart transplant
Heart transplant
Okay, my car is a 98 Civic(wait for it)...DX. I got it for a song as nothing beats free. It's as mechanically sound and street legal as can be but we all know that it obviously needs a new powerplant and drivetrain. My dilemma is this, do I: A. Do the obvious B18C swap?
or: B. Gut the 96 Accord in the driveway and cram the V6 in it?
I guess what I need to know from the Honda gurus on this board is which swap will give me the most overall potential? K series is sadly not an option for me. Thank you guys for your time.

Re: Heart transplant
Depends on how much work you want to put into it. The v6 swap is basically all custom work you would have to do by yourself or find a trustworthy shop to do it. It would be very expensive for someone to craft the mounts for you. The B18 is a true and tested swap that can be done with pre manufactured mounts. I suggest go with the obvious, B18. I'd love to see another V6 civic on the forum though, so if you think your mechanically inclined enough to do it, go for it. I think the six cylinder has more potential but with the tight fit I'm not sure if a turbo is possible, someone correct me if they know better.

I'd have to agree with tom (tbohar) here.. Make your 98 DX a home-made 99-00 Si unless you got the cash flow and a shop that can do all the custom work. It would be cool to see another V6 civic on the boards tho
