trying to check power steering

trying to check power steering I am the proud new owner of a 95 civic DX. it's a great car except the steering is really stiff when turning. I'm trying to check the power steering fluid but for the life of me I can not find the reservoir
. I've been doing some digging online and read somewhere that the DX did not come with power steering for a few years.
Is this true? If so what can I do to loosen the steering when turning?
