siezed head need advice

I just bought a 97 lx with 1.6 dy16 motor thought timing belt was broke when I bought it. Anyway cam gear sheared key and just spins. pulled dizzy and tried to spin cam siezed tight! Anyone got any idea's what may have caused it and should I continue on and pull head? Should I just find another head and bolt it on if pistons are ok?

Re: siezed head need advice

yea, it looks like someone prior to me overheated this puppy and siezed the cam tight Do you know what year heads fit a 97 lx with sohc 1.6 dy16 motor without changing any stock parts? Anybody got a good stock head that is complete and ready to bolt on near Philadelphia PA??
