SRS light - Seatbelt... Different thread - already searched
Hey guys,
I searched all of this forum and google and can't find the appropriate answer. Here's my situation:
I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe
I don't know if you guys support this or not, but I read a DIY online for cutting the three wires under your seat (blue with red stripe, red with blue stripe, and black) and connecting one of the two colored ones (The right one, I just don't remember which at the momemt( to the black one and your seat belt annoying warning won't go off.
That's not what I'm asking about, that's just history to my problem. My vehicle ran great for about a month, this month I put seat covers on my seats which involved connecting the covers under the seats. in the process I removed the electrical tape from the two wires that were connected making the ground which disabled the seat belt alarm thingy. well I reconnected them (they were the right ones and they didn't touch any others cuz I never stripped the other wires) and the next time I drove the car the SRS airbag light was on
I did the full SRS reset with the yellow clip in the fuse box, I did it right cuz I saw the two flashes at the end and yet it came right back on. This tells me there's a problem with the seat belt connector (probably that I cut the wires? :P) but if that's going to be on, why wasn't it on for the first month after I cut the wires, did it only come on because the two wires I had together came apart once? you'd think it would stay off after I reconnected and reset them
I am at a loss and am wondering if my airbag system is disabled now or what I have to do in order to fix this
any help would be greatly appreciated, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure which one it belonged in
Thanks,
~Vince

Re: SRS light - Seatbelt... Different thread - already searched
Found the answer, the wires didn't have a good connection under the car. I twisted them together and taped them up good and did the srs reset under the dash and the light stayed off
