Can the trunk of a civic EX hold a bike rack?

I have one of those bike racks that attach with 4 ropes onto the trunk.
The rack itself weighs like 40 pounds and my bike is another 40.
Can the trunk withstand this force on a 100 mile trip (to a MTB park) or will it tear off the trunk eventually? I'm really worried because I spent like $2800 on the bike lol.

If so is there a way I can reinforce it?

prolly better to use a roof rack. that much weight will really drag the rear down. i doubt the trunk would fall apart, but those are very awkward

Take the front wheel off, fold the seats and stick it in the trunk. (if you have room)

I prefer the ones that go on a trailer hitch.
