Rep Power: 0 Rebuilt D17A1 Engine Pre-Lube procedure?
I am finishing to put together a re-built D17A1 longblock for my 03 Civic. The remanufactured engine comes with a warning that I need to Pre-Lube the engine by pressurizing the oil or by turning the oil pump until oil flows to the head.
How can I accomplish this in the most economic way?
Thanks!

pull out the ECU fuse and keep cranking the motor until the oil light turns off. it takes awhile. maybe about a 2 minutes of cranking? crank the motor like 5 times and stop, then repeat. its handy to have a battery charger or another car to jump your civic. your battery will most likely start to die out before the oil light turns off.
