Pry the triangle off, just a flat tip screw driver it pops right off. Inside is 3 8mm nuts, undo those, unplug the harness and it will come off. I had to kinda of jiggle the connector for the harness free on mine. Hope this helps.

When you put it back on, don't over tighten the three bolts!

/\/\ a good hand-tight is enough.. they're just holding a mirror on. if they start to get loose, you'll notice in plenty of time :P

Back before I knew better, I actually went to the stealership for a replacement side mirror. Ran me about 85 bucks....

But I guess the thing that scares some people off from doing this is that they might crack something while taking the triangle off. Guess it's just practice.

Re: 2003 civic side mirror replace diy?

Does this work on 2001 model? I need to replace the passenger side mirror - do I need to take off the whole panel or only the triangle inside? Anyone has pics of how to take off the panel, in case I need to do it? Thanks.

Re: 2003 civic side mirror replace diy?

Pop the triangle off, aka the sail panel, 3 bolts and a small connector you need to pull apart, mirror falls off. EASY. Same on all 7th gens, and prob other gens as well
