Rep Power: 0 Coolant & ATF change for 1st time...
Hello everyone... I'm about ready to do both changes this weekend. This is my first time doing this myself, so of course i'm a little nervous, and excited at the same time. I've done an oil and filter change on her yesterday btw it's a 98 4dr civic LX, non Vtech. I added 5 qts of oil but I hope that was alright. I went through a thread today and I seen someone mention that 4-4.5 qts it's all it needed... I also don't have the manual on her to verify that...
I've seen and printed out the thread on how to change the ATF, but is there anything on how to do the Coolant change? This is my first time as I said and I really don't want to mess anything up.
Also any suggestions on types of fluids will be helpful. Thanks- Jeff

uh....5 quarts of oil is a bit much on ur civic.....normally the civics take about 3.7quarts.
as for ATF, im not sure about ur year because u have a 6th gen. maybe someone with a 6thgen will come shine some light.
also, get a haynes manual... they are awesome you can get them at ur local autozone or walmart

Damn!!! I hope nothing happens to it then... I'll drain some if it when i get home tonight... It's my only ride... I got a jug of Peak 50/50 antifreeze already at home, so i'll use that unless someone tells me that's it junk of course... I'll lookup that Haynes manual too. Thanks
