halo projector wiring

newbie here... I just got projector lighting http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DYUVLU - and actually how to take out the bumper and replace the lighting. However, it comes with separate 2 red wires for angel eyes... and I understand now you have to tap into the parking light, but how do you actually tap into it? Without soldering that is... I've looked for every thread here and Google, but can't seem to find a clear direction... thank you in advance!

p.s. alignment seems to be problematic too... my first day experience is that it scatters alot in terms of what you actually see on the road... source is bright though. Parking lights are both (small one on the bottom) seems always off. Turning signal works. My OEM burned out so, I tried it out for the hell of it... it looks alright, but performance is as lot said subpar.

I never hooked up angel eyes but if it told you to tap into the parking light then just cut the parking light, strip it, and strip some of the angel eye wires and twist them or solder them and shrink wrap them to make it look at pretty again.

Re: halo projector wiring

OK - got it done... Looks pretty cool/though it's border ricy.... but I think I tapped in to the wrong one (signal), now the eyes blinks (but works) - kinda funny - I guess it has to connect to the smaller, parking light. Maybe I should leave it like that for a while... taking out the bumper is pain.

BTW, when does that ever light up (lower, small parking light)? I just notice that it never really lights up in any situation - I think my old OEM did. Any ideas?

Re: halo projector wiring

Thanks for the tip - I just fixed the halos... and re-connected the lines to share the power from the parking (smaller one on the bottom) lights and doesn't blink and works fine. No soldering though... hopefully it will stay in there.

Looks like my parking lights are both out - weird. I'll get a replacement when the weather gets dry - I'm sick of taking the bumper apart even though it doesn't take too long, but it was a learning experience for sure.

Re: halo projector wiring

yeah, the bumper was a pain in the beginning but im so used to it now. im always messin with the lights. i didn't solder my wires either. a little electric tape goes a long way lol.

by the way, there's a diy about neon halo's that are much brighter than the led's. if yours go out, you might wanna look into it. im gonna do it soon!

Re: halo projector wiring

hah, tried those. didn't really like em. they're not that bright at all and you need a resistor or else hyperflash =\. they also didnt match well with the amber glass parking lights.

if you really wanna try em, superbrightleds.com has lots of em.
