Batt light/no start

I have a 2k3 manual trans and the battery light will come occasionally but go out as rpm increases, then out of no where it won't start. It has about 43k miles. I have checked battery, alternator, but not starter. All checks ok, this not a regular problem but a PITA. Anyone else with this?
Thanks Greg

Re: Batt light/no start

even if the car wasnt grounded well it would not trip the battery light i dont think. i think its the alt. check the engine grounds as well though. alternators can be a PITA sometimes because sometimes they charge and sometimes they dont.

this is prob a longshot but, do you have a modded downpipe with the o2 sensors moved? i had the same problem as you and it turned out a grounded out o2 sensor wire was causing me my problems somehow, i really dont know why... but when i fixed the o2 sensor all my problems went away.

cause the alternator runs on the same fuse as the primary o2 sensor

the charging could mean a number of things, could be a burned out fuse, but that would turn teh CEL on.. otherwise the voltage regulator in the alternator is going bad, or the ELD is going bad, the ELD is probablly the easiest, quickest thing to swap out, but it probablly is the alternator
