1998 ex ~150psi all four cylinders. injectors pulsing, all plugs firing. ~40psi at the fuel rail. Ran ok when it was last parked. could use a new timing belt but the marks all line up. it SHOULD start it has all the symptoms of a running car. I am a honda noob, but I'm about to rip the 1.6 out and start fresh? Anyone? I'd hate to waste more time on this pos if its something dumb that I've overlooked.SORRT THOUGHT THIS WAS THE TECH SECTION PLEASE DELETE MY IGNORANCE

What is it doing when you turn the key? Nothing or does the engine actually attempt to turn over? If you know for sure you have fuel,spark,air, & compression I would definitely look close at the t-belt. It is rare but I have seen 2 cars which had a similiar complaint. Ran the night before but won't start in the morning. Both ended up being t-belts....very strange but it has happened before.

You should also pay attention to ignition timing aswell.
Leak down test and coolant system pressure test maybe a good idea to see the overall health of the engine.
Check for huge vacuum leaks and electrical connectors unpluged/mouse chew wiring.
Check immobil. system if equiped.
Do you have a check engine light at all? I would check dtc's aswell.
The list goes on.....

USUALLY when a coil goes bad it doesn't spark.... Thank you for the help and again sorry for adding to the noobs congesting the tech section. Now I can move on to more interesting topics like base maps for megasquat and the 22 swap.

check for obstructions in the intake.. if it hasnt ran for a while.. you may have rodents clogging the airway

or conversely they coulda chewed up some important wires..
