If you're looking to do just a muffler that sounds decent, you're going to need to spend a little more then 40-50. I'd pick up a brand name (I'm personally a Magnaflow fan) universal muffer and have a shop weld it on for you. If you're looking for a visual thing also, they have ones with polished tips that look nice also.
I really like this series of mufflers...they're very quiet, look nice and arent the cost of a cat back. You'll still hear it, but it won't drone:

However, for around $350 shipped you can get a Magnaflow catback on Ebay.

Exactly Right u Are. I have a friend who ordered similar one from ebay, and it makes me want to slap him everytime he comes by because it's such a cheezy farting noise which is actually very disturbing!

I would recommend asking around/looking for a good muffler and exhaust shop in your area...like a locally owned one that specializes in what you're looking to do. Make friends with the people at your nearest speed shops and Autozone/etc...they can be a wealth of information. You're not the first guy in your area who has wanted to weld a muffler onto a civic, so try to find a place with good feedback by asking around.
If you're just looking for something that sounds and looks nice without spending $300+ for a cat-back that might give you a few hp, this is probably your best bet. I got mine done the other day at a mom-and-pop in about 20 minutes for $100 and it looks and sounds better than any of the fart-cannon equipped cars around here. I only found the place because I talked to tons of people in my town and got referred.
BTW, it doesn't look like you live in Florida from the picture, but if you do I can give you some places to check out.

Don't go too cheap. You'll be a nusiance and you'll sound worse than a beat up Harley. You don't want the cops following you around. Save your money for few months. It'll be worth the wait. Get a low tone full exhaust and get it welded on.

If it is on stock pipe with stock cat etc, it will not sound raspy and 'ricey', it will sound a little louder and slightly deeper.

Wait so if I was just going for looks/sound instead of performance I could just use the muffler and not the whole system? Would it sound the same as having a full system?
