muffler sounds bad

well first i'd like to say, i liked it better how the forums looked before they were updated...now i can't go to next thread without going back and clicking on the next one...so that sucks..

but this is the true nature of this post...i washed and waxed my car today..and it looks great by the way, however i rinsed the muffler like 3 times.....cuz i wanted to clean it and get it a shine .....and when I turned on the car..sometimes it sounds as if there was a little can or something loose inside the muffler....and when i would sword of give it a little kick..it would stop...what is this?
will this sound go away soon?

also what is the difference b/w a flowmaster and a performance muffler? do u gain any extra horse power with any of these?

are u guys joking me? dont use water over ur muffler? my gawd, what do u think rain does? dont listen to this crap about water on your muffler. even if u get water inside, just starting your car and running it evaporates pretty much all the water in there, unless ur sitting there shooting water in there for a good 5 minutes. it's when the whole thing gets filled up that u have a problem, but you dont. flowmasters are generally used on American cars by the way. is ur muffler a universal? because if you got a bad welding job there could be little pieces of metal in there. or, more likely, your springbolts could be loose or messed up by the people who did it. could be a lot of different things though, just take it to a shop they'll tell u

- muffler shouldn't get wet even from the ran b/c the rest of the car hovering over it.
- don't spray water in the muffler especially if you don't have a stainless steel one b/c of rust even though it takes awhile for rust to develop.
- hondausdm is probably right about a bad welding job.
- what universal muffler did you get.

Sounds like you're getting vibration there from one of your muffler clips.
Turn your car on, and see if the muffler is vibrating and hitting the clasps that hold it in place.
