cat back question
hey guys so after reading the headers thread again I didn't notice if you are able to install these 2 cat backs without changing the headers. the greddy sp2 cat back exhaust, or the magna flow cat back exhaust. some people tell me that it bolts on directly without having to change the header, but others have told me i have to get a new header too. which one is right?
Re: cat back question
If your car is an ex and you buy an ex catback system, you do not need to buy anything else, if you have an lx, dx, vp, etc and you buy an ex catback, then you will need to change your manifold and downpipe and cat to an ex setup. If you were doing this, you might as well buy a header and either a test pipe or a high flow cat both for an ex and do it all at once is probably what people are saying.

Re: cat back question
well the one's i was looking at says it will fit the dx cut..... are they wrong? or are they expecting you to have already changed your headers?
Re: cat back question
I have no idea which one's you are looking at, or what model car you have!!!! If you have an lx or dx and there is a catback for your year, make and model and says "fits dx or lx" then you just need that catback system.

Re: cat back question
haha... yeah dude. Oh, only one header by the way. Keep in mind that with an ex header you will get better flow then with the dx/lx header which is fairly restrictive.

Re: cat back question
Just so you know all of what you are asking in this entire thread is covered in the ultimate exhaust faq thread. But what TRIZ is saying is if you want the best result, go with ex setup completely (header for ex, test pipe or downpipe and cat for ex, and then catback system for ex) It will all bolt right up to your dx. However if you don't want to buy a new header, and tp or dp and cat, then just buy the dx/lx catback system. And I was just being smart with the FYI, I'm not mad.
