Rep Power: 210 Strut King Short Shifter & Shifter Bushings/Boot Install! 56K No Way!
As the title says, I just installed the strut king short shifter kit, shifter bushings, a new shift boot. I took pics so I figured I would write up a little DIY. There was some different screws to remove my center console so here we go. Sorry ahead of time, some of the pics aren't great.
Tools:
Phillips head screwdriver
Socket wrench/12mm socket (I believe.)
Needle nose pliers
Flathead screwdriver
Time:
It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to install all 3 pieces.
Links:
Here are a link to Speedfoos DIY that has a different center console then I do. Reference this if you don't find the screws I list.

1. Remove 2 phillips head screws from front of center console.
2. Remove shift ****.
3. Remove 2 phillips head screws from rear of center console below ebrake.
4. Pull down cup holder and remove 2 phillips head screws from inside.
5. I forgot to take pics but if you have the sliding compartment next to your ebrake, open it and pull up to remove it.
6. After previous step remove 2 phillips head screws from underneath right behind the shifter assembly.
7. Remove center console and voila!
8. Remove 4 12mm(I believe) bolts holding shifter box down.
9. Here I used my screwdriver to pop out the metal part of the old rubber bushings then popped the rubber out.
New hotness.
Comparison and proper way to installed bushing into housing.
Back to the DIY!!
10. Put 12mm(I believe) bolts back in with bushings and tighten.
11. Remove the 2 cotter pins from shifter cables.
12. Remove bolt from cable on the left side (left to right throw) and remove cable from shaft on the right side. (front to back throw)
13. Now install the left to right throw adapter and cable and install bolts and cotter pin.
Presto.
14. Now install the front to back adapter. Fit this in the groove and install bolt and stud and cotter pin.
I had to reuse one of the old cotter pins for the main shaft. Be careful when removing them.
Hey buddy, hands off!!
I also forgot to take pics of the boot install but it is very simple..
1. Flip center console over, remove 6 phillips head screws.
2. Remove staples from shift boot and plastic zip tie thing around shift boot collar.
3. Using a flathead pop the clips off the silver bezel and remove.
4. Replace boot, and accesories.
and BOOM... Magic.
My opinions of the short shift kit and bushings are great. You can really feel the difference between the shifts and I love the face I keep my stock shifter height.
Thank you Strut King for the parts. I will be ordering the shifter cable bushings soon.

Those are some phettos you've got there (rhymes with ghetto)! You should buy a new set from Strut King!
Nice little DIY though.

I used the oem shift boot collar and my boot tucked perfectly on it and then I shoved the collar up onto the bolt holding my **** straight.. works perfect.

I just installed the left/right adapter onto my Revo SS and it worked! I was having a problem getting into reverse on my
6spd because it was too far to the right. Well now I can get into reverse without any problems.
